Unifying transactional and analytical data with Postgres

Join us for an exciting session with Elizabeth Christensen as we explore the newly released pg_lake extension and the future of unified data systems built on PostgreSQL and open source technologies.

The data ecosystem has traditionally separated transactional (OLTP) and analytical (OLAP) workloads — but what if Postgres could power both? In this talk, Elizabeth will introduce pg_lake, a new series of PostgreSQL extensions designed to connect Postgres directly to object storage and modern open table formats such as CSV, Parquet, and Iceberg.

Attendees will learn how pg_lake bridges transactional and analytical data workflows to create a vendor-neutral, open source, unified data stack. The session will include demos showing how to build lightweight data pipelines with minimal ETL while enabling high-performance analytics using technologies like Amazon S3, DuckDB, Iceberg, and Polaris.

Whether you’re a PostgreSQL developer, data engineer, analytics practitioner, or open source enthusiast, this session offers a glimpse into the future of modern data architecture powered by Postgres.
