Hettie Dombrovskaya
President
Henrietta Dombrovskaya is a distinguished database expert serving as Founder and President, with over four decades of academic and industry experience in data systems and query optimization. She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Saint Petersburg State University and is widely recognized for her deep expertise in database architecture and performance tuning.
Currently a Database Architect at DRW Holdings, Henrietta has played a key role in advancing data infrastructure in high-performance environments. She is an active leader in the PostgreSQL community, serving as President of Prairie Postgres, a local organizer of the Chicago PostgreSQL User Group, and a member of the PG Day Chicago Operations Committee.
A frequent international speaker and author of a book on PostgreSQL query optimization, Henrietta brings both technical depth and community leadership. As Founder and President, she drives the organization’s vision, fosters community growth, and champions education and innovation in the PostgreSQL ecosystem.

Dian Fay
Vice President
Dian is an experienced data architect and technologist serving as Vice President, bringing over a decade of hands-on expertise in building data-driven systems with PostgreSQL at the core. Since 2015, she has led and contributed to data architectures across diverse domains, including weather logistics, accessibility platforms, and clinical research.
Currently the Senior Data Architect for Datastore at Beacon Biosignals, Dian drives scalable data infrastructure for advanced EEG analysis and clinical trial systems, working across modern technologies like Snowflake, GraphQL, Kubernetes, and TypeScript. She is also a respected open-source contributor, known for projects like MassiveJS and monstrous, and brings a strong foundation in data modeling, system design, and developer tooling.
In her role as Vice President, Dian combines deep technical leadership with strategic vision, supporting innovation, community engagement, and the advancement of data-centric initiatives within the organization.

Anna Bailliekova
Secretary and Treasurer
Anna Bailliekova is a seasoned data professional serving as Secretary and Treasurer, bringing strong expertise in data engineering, analytics, and team leadership. Currently a Senior Data Engineer at Zendesk, she specializes in building scalable ETL pipelines, data warehouse solutions, and reporting systems that drive business insights.
Prior to this, Anna led data initiatives at Epic, where she managed teams and developed robust data infrastructure for operational analytics. Her early career includes impactful analyst roles on political campaigns and at Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research, giving her a unique perspective on data-driven decision-making.
With a strong academic foundation in political science and computer science from Knox College, Anna combines technical depth with strategic thinking.

Shaun Thomas
Director
Shaun is a long-time contributor to the PostgreSQL ecosystem, with decades of experience in database architecture and high availability. He is widely recognized for his book PostgreSQL High Availability Cookbook and his popular PG Phriday blog series, where he shares practical insights from real-world systems.
Currently a Principal Software Engineer and Postgres SME at pgEdge, Shaun focuses on advancing Postgres as a distributed, cluster-aware platform.
As a member of the organization, he brings deep technical expertise, thought leadership, and a strong commitment to the Postgres community.

Carlos Aranibar
Director
Carlos Aranibar is a Data Scientist and active community member with a strong background in Economics, Statistics, and Data Science. Currently working as an Analytics Developer at Northwestern Medicine, he focuses on data querying, process optimization, and automation to support data-driven decision-making.
Originally from Bolivia and now based in Chicago, Carlos is fluent in both English and Spanish and brings a global perspective to his work. He is an engaged member of the tech community, regularly participating in meetups and contributing as a volunteer within the PostgreSQL ecosystem.
As a member of the organization, Carlos contributes with enthusiasm, continuous learning, and active community involvement, supporting the group’s mission and collaborative initiatives.
