The New Postgres AI Ecosystem

On February 18, the Illinois Prairie PostgreSQL User Group will host its next PostgreSQL meetup, featuring Shaun Thomas, Principal Software Engineer at pgEdge and long-time Postgres practitioner.

In this talk, Shaun will dive into what comes after pgvector in the Postgres AI ecosystem. He will introduce concepts such as Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) and Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, and explain how these technologies help connect large language models to real data, reduce hallucinations, and enable more practical AI-powered applications on PostgreSQL.
