May 13: pg_lake and the Future of Unified Data Systems

Prairie Postgres NFP is excited to announce an upcoming community meetup featuring Elizabeth Christensen from Snowflake.

In this session, “pg_lake: Unifying transactional and analytical data with Postgres,” we’ll explore how PostgreSQL is evolving beyond traditional transactional workloads into a unified platform for analytics and modern data lake architectures.

Elizabeth will introduce the newly released pg_lake extension series, which connects PostgreSQL to object storage and open table formats including Parquet and Iceberg. Through live demos and practical examples, attendees will see how to build streamlined data pipelines with little to no ETL while leveraging the power of open source technologies like PostgreSQL, DuckDB, Iceberg, Polaris, and Amazon S3.

This talk is ideal for developers, DBAs, data engineers, and anyone interested in the convergence of transactional and analytical systems in the modern data stack.

We look forward to another great evening of PostgreSQL learning, community, and discussion in the Midwest tech community.
